//New Video: Fucked Up
Ever since we heard tell of the Canadian hardcore band, Fucked Up, we were intruigued. With their rowdy sound and their equally as wild stage antics, we were really interested to see how the band’s newest album would be, and if it would be worth the hype the hardcore kids and blogs had given it. The day came, we bought the album and we’ve been pretty hooked ever since (scroll down to read our reviews). Since the release of David Comes To Life, I have been listening to the record non-stop and I am always finding something new; slowly chipping away at the rock opera that is this latest album.
We were super excited to find out that the band had released the above visual accompaniment to the single off the record, ‘Queen of Hearts.’ The video has an eerie quality about it and evokes that feeling of nervous anticipation; that there is something looming in the distance. Only embracing that ominous quality is Scott Cudmore’s use of muted colours and a cold, empty set. The overall aesthetic is one that has been been done before, though rarely as well shot and perhaps never with a children’s choir. Simply, it fits the song strangely well, though you barely hear any original vocals. Click play and check out. Let us know what you think by hitting us up on Twitter and Facebook.
